I recently relocated to Tallahassee and am interested in the FSU Ballroom Dance Club. I am NOT a student, and thus would be interested in the dance classes held on Sunday. How do I join and how much does it cost?
You join by simply coming to the classes when you can and enjoying yourself! It’s as simple as that. The cost is an optional $5 a semester and that money goes towards decorations and drinks and materials for the twice a semester parties.
The Sunday dance is in the STATE BALLROOM in the Oglesby Union on FSU campus. To get there, you have to take the staircase located right next to the on-campus Chili’s to the second floor where you follow the corridor around to an open balcony where the ballroom will he decorated for the dance.
Parking can be in the Woodward Garage. From there it’s just a matter of crossing the street into the union and finding the staircase. If these directions are not clear, there are directories that will have the ballroom labeled for you on your way into the union.
For the Spring semester, I haven’t found the space and there was such a lack of student interest last semester I found it to be a waste of the club’s time and resources. Therefore the meetings for Students will be on Sundays WITH the Members of the Community.
I’m interested in the beginning Ballroom classes on Sunday night. How do I go about signing up? The post above says to just show up but I notice on the schedule that some classes say no room.
The “no room” refers to the fact that we do not have a room to dance in for those Sundays, not that we don’t have the capacity to take on new members! There is always room for new dancers.
Hi, Roberta! The Sunday classes begin today, September 11th from 3-6 pm in the State Ballroom. Which website is missing a schedule (I will go post one)?
Hi, Lisa! Friday classes are reserved for students only; however, the Sunday classes are open to the entire Tallahassee community and will continue for the entirely of summer.
Nope! We will release the schedule for summer Sunday lessons as soon as possible. They will definitely start on May 20th, but we are still finalizing some of the lesson plans.

Could you please give directions to both locations for the Sunday dance and where to park? Thanks!

you talked about friday nights being for FSU students, where is this schedule located, or is that not being put on this semester (Spring 2011)

When do the Sunday classes begin for Fall 2011? I don’t see a schedule for them on the website.

The one for this site is now up!
Hello, to attend the Friday sessions do we have to be Fsu students? Also will the classes be offered in the summer? Thank you.

Hello,
I am really interested in the Sunday class. I notice that the posted schedule stops in April, are classes canceled over the summer term?
Nope! We will release the schedule for summer Sunday lessons as soon as possible. They will definitely start on May 20th, but we are still finalizing some of the lesson plans.
